Maintains, services and repairs weapons used at the Training Center, and may travel OCONUS to execute maintenance and repair of weapons used by downrange employees or contractors. Weapons are defined as all those firearms used for operational, training and/or instruction purposes.
Provides maintenance support and determines repair parts required for small arms and crew served weapons IAW approved procedures and policies.
Cleans and inspects small arms and crew served weapons.
Uses hand, electric, and power tools, small arms and weapons shop tools equipment and gages.
Uses technical manuals and technical bulletins while performing inspections, maintenance checks or troubleshooting.
Inspects, tests, maintains, stores, and prepares for use small arms and crew served weapons.
Issues/receives and stores small arms and crew served weapons by serial number with a double-check of each during issue/turn-in of arms to and from the Armory.
Demonstrates operation and breakdown of crew-served weapons.
Ensures weapons are available to meet training requirements.
Maintains and/or assists in maintaining weapons inventory.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be US Citizen. High school diploma required.
Must be at least 21 years old with no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Three years current experience as Law Enforcement and/or US Military armorer or approved Gunsmith College Graduate required.
Supervisory experience preferred. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite required.
Basic firearms fundamental shooting skills and knowledge of safety practices used when handling weapons required.
Up-to-date certifications in at least four of the following weapons systems required: any of the M16/AR15 series (colt, bushmaster, DPMS) , Beretta, Sig Sauer, Glock, Remington, Mossberg RSG, Mini guns(any), Foreign weapons, AK and variants, Fabrique National (M240/M249/M3M), Dillon Aero (mini gun), 50 cal M2HB, and H&K.
Prior Law Enforcement, US Military or other factory approved armorer training. Prior heavy weapons training.
US Military or law Enforcement Instructor qualification or other instructional experience.

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, however, some extended or weekend hours may be required.
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
