Accounts Payable Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Ensures the accurate and timely payment of vendors. Directs and leads staff to meet Department objectives. Liaises with other members of Department staff to complete month-end close.




  • Supervises staff to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.

  • Leads preparation of weekly check run.

  • Generates weekly cash forecast and other reports.

  • Processes wire transactions.

  • Coordinates with Treasury to maintain banking relationships.

  • Assists the Controller as necessary in report generation.

  • Resolves issues that are escalated through direct reports.

  • Maintains IC data in conjunction with Payroll staff.

  • Assists in audits within the Finance Department as they relate to accounts payable and disbursement activities.

  • Proposes and implements improvements to accounts payable processes.

  • Processes 1099 reporting.

  • Reconciles accounts payable sub-ledger to general ledger.

  • Prepares month-end accounts payable accrual entry.

  • Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Must have six years of experience in a high transaction environment and prior experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • Experience with Deltek/Costpoint preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however, some extended or weekend hours may be required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
