Senior Translator

The Contractor shall provide Arabic-to-English linguist (or additional languages as determined by the USG) and translator support to the USG. The Contractor shall be able to read Arabic documents and listen to recorded Arabic conversations and translate those documents and recordings into English. Special emphasis will be placed on financial documents and discussions; the Contractor should have experience in threat finance and/or in the financial sector. Language proficiency rating of three (3) or above in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and congruity judgment in the target language and a proficiency rating of four (4) or above in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and congruity judgment in English is required. The Contractor shall provide such language testing in accordance with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of State (DoS) policy.
Bachelor's degree. 5-10 or more years of comprehensive demonstrated knowledge.
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday through Friday (40) hours per week in coordination with the IT Assistant System Administrator/Programmer (AAP) to provide on-site coverage from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, however, some extended or weekend hours may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
